Miracle on 42nd Street
After an initial failure, an apartment complex in New York City was transformed into subsidized housing for those in the performing arts. The social experiment didn’t have much hope, but turned into a resounding success, churning out phenomenal individuals like Alicia Keys, Terrance Howard, Donald Faison, Larry David, Samuel L. Jackson, Giancarlo Esposito and Angela Lansbury. Not only did it turn around the lives of those who lived there, but also the neighborhood and local economy, proving the importance of the performing arts and inspiring a new wave of support for those brave enough to join the field.
