Penny Slinger – Out of the Shadows
The incredible, untold story of the pioneering British artist Penny Slinger, who came of age in London’s 1960s counter-culture with a radical vision of female sexuality. Such was Penny’s initial success that in 1971 Rolling Stone Magazine predicted her work would one day be “as ubiquitous as The Beatles’ ‘Sergeant Pepper’. Yet by the end of the 1970s, Penny Slinger had ‘disappeared.’ Richard Kovitch’s film explores this extraordinary body of work and shows how it continues to exert a powerful influence on artists working today.
