Laura is a single mom whose cramped Seattle home is overrun with animals she can’t stop taking in, nabbing every stray that falls into her sight. She wants to send her son Henry, who struggles from bullying at school, to private school but she lacks the funds. Enter Laura’s father Jack, who has been kicked out of his nursing home for his drug-dealing antics and begs his daughter to get him out. Against it at first, Jack proposes a deal: help him leave the nursing home and he’ll pay for Henry’s education. Now the three are forced into a cross-country journey that creates unexpected situations and teaches them that despite their flaws, you learn to love your family.
