Is Interning at the Newport Beach Film Festival for Me?: A Guide

*Update: The Newport Beach Film Festival is no longer accepting Spring 2016 applicants. Thank you for your interest in working with the Festival!*

Have you ever thought to yourself, “I maybe might be one of those people who’s interested in becoming an intern with the Newport Beach Film Festival?”

Well, you’re in luck! The NBFF is seeking motivated and passionate individuals eager to join our team and help produce one of Orange County’s biggest entertainment events of the year. The Newport Beach Film Festival offers a plethora of opportunities and experiences only available through this one of a kind cinematic showcase. In addition to manning the front lines of our office operations, interns have the opportunity to work within the following departments in the lead-up during the festival:

  • Marketing and PR
  • Event planning and production
  • Venue Coordination
  • Programming
  • Personnel Management
  • Business Development
  • VIP relations
  • Graphic Design
  • Social Media
  • Blog (this blog!)
  • Festival ground operations

Not only do interns work closely with a specific department and learn the ins and outs of the festival’s operation process, they also get to collaborate with a large group of like-minded people where they can develop personal and professional relationships that will serve long after their internships have ended. Some of our past interns enjoyed their experience so much that they have decided to stay with the festival and are now fulltime staff members. We have also had interns who have gone on to work for companies like Sony, MTV, CBS, CAA, Disney and more

So, ask yourself the following questions:

  • Do you have a deep underlying passion for film?
  • Are you looking to master your professional skills?
  • Do you want to make valuable connections within the film industry?
  • Do you enjoy working in a vibrant and exciting work environment?
  • Do you find yourself lying awake at night thinking about:
    • How long you would survive a zombie invasion?
    • How life would be different if you were ambidextrous?
    • How many parallel universes are there? And which one are you currently experiencing?

If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you are one of those people who maybe might be interested in in becoming an intern with the Newport Beach Film Festival! Apply for an internship with the NBFF now, by submitting your resume and cover letter to [email protected]!
